We live in a world where everything is at its best since the dawn of humanity. Yet in countless places like Egypt, Sudan, and South Sudan, many people struggle to even get basic food and clean water, living in uncertainty of what’s going to await them the next day.
The Saint Moses Relief Organization (SMRO) was established in 2012 in Canada with a mission to end poverty. Since then, we’ve raised hundreds of millions to support those in need.
Working across 22 districts in Egypt and 2 in Sudan and South Sudan, with over 500 volunteers, we offer access to essential daily needs and education. Our work helps people become self-reliant and envision a brighter future. Currently focused on Egypt and Sudan, we aim to expand our support across Africa, bringing hope and assistance to the entire continent.
Helping children and families to escape poverty demands support in all aspects of their lives, from basic needs like food and water to higher education and entrepreneurship. Thanks to hundreds of volunteers and your support, we’re making a real impact on their futures.
In Egypt, Sudan, and South Sudan, many children can’t go to school because families can’t afford it. Your donations and support help SMRO get tens of thousands of children and young people into schools and universities.
Many children, hit hard by poverty, find themselves orphaned and alone. By sponsoring a child, you can offer them a home, education, and food, helping them to get back on their feet and eventually support others.

High medical costs leave many untreated. Your donations help the elderly and those with chronic diseases like diabetes and cancer. We’ve enabled over 10,000 surgeries and hundreds of kidney transplants.
Clean water scarcity in Sudan leaves many families uncertain about their next day’s water supply. Your help can significantly impact by funding well construction. To date, we’ve built 10 wells, each serving about 2,000 people with clean water.
Helping families start small businesses is a key step toward independence, enabling them to self-provide. This support not only empowers them but also creates a ripple effect, as they often seek to assist others facing similar challenges.
Lots of homes lack essentials such as roofs, bathrooms, appliances and beds, making them hard to live in. Thanks to your donations, we renovated over 200 family houses and provided beds to over 150 houses.
Our mission is to help as many people as we can escape poverty in Egypt, Sudan, and South Sudan. We aim to break the cycle by giving children access to food and education, offering people a fresh start, and restoring dignity to the poor and homeless elderly.
